Nikki’s Weekly Tarot Reading: August 5-11, 2024

The cards pictured are from the ‘Cosmic Astrology Oracle’ deck by Tanaaz Chubb

Antares and Pluto

This week, I felt inspired to return to the Cosmic Astrology Oracle deck from Tanaaz Chubb. The cards captivate the heart with a compelling message encouraging self-love and healing. I’m excited to explore their meanings and how they can support us throughout the week.

Our first card is Antares, also known as the Heart of Scorpion. It is said to unlock our heart chakra and help us connect to the love that is all around us. It speaks to the themes of self-love and forgiveness.

To me, this card aligns with a card from Tarot called the Two of Cups. It’s about loving ourselves first and foremost before anyone else. It is about self-compassion and speaking lovingly to ourselves.

This card is also about falling in love with a person, a job, a place, or with ourselves. We may feel uncertain if this will happen to us, but we deserve it, and it is coming if we are open. It might not mean you will fall in love with the person of your dreams tomorrow. However, it does mean that the opportunity for your heart to expand is on the horizon.

With Antares and the Two of Cups, feeling deserving of love has much to do with self-love. Self-love and self-acceptance are major parts of any relationship. If those things have been hard for you, this energy will help you find a path to that place.

What once felt difficult to accept about yourself will feel easy to understand and nurture this week. You will feel a lightness and a tenderness that will help with love in all ways.

Ask yourself these questions: Can I speak with more love and kindness to myself? Can I raise my standards of who I let into my heart? Can I value loving myself just as much as loving others?

Take a moment to look in the mirror and say something loving about your body, mind, and spirit. Try interrupting your self-talk when you are about to say something negative and instead say something compassionate.

This type of positive behavior will cause loving energy to radiate out of you. When you are in a loving place with yourself, you will attract more loving energy in all areas of your life.

Our next card is Pluto, the planet of death and rebirth. Its energy appears subtly at first but then becomes a powerful force in our lives.

Tannaz writes,” Pluto is often referred to as the Lord of the Underworld, for it is only through venturing into the shadows and the deep pits of our subconscious mind that we can truly transform and awaken to our highest power and potential.”

This card aligns with the Death card in the Tarot. With this card, sometimes our initial response may be fear. We may feel afraid to face whatever message the card is offering.

But we should not be afraid. Death is not a card of endings but a card of beginnings. Death is about letting go of the baggage we carry that makes our journey more difficult. With this card, we are shedding the past and starting with a lighter load.

Death and Pluto bring about a powerful transformation. This transformation can feel disruptive or like a fresh breath of fresh air.

Many of us are afraid of change and anything new. We are fearful because we crave permanence and consistency. We want to hold on to whatever we have, even if it’s time to let it go.

Death is a beautiful and deeply powerful card. When it appears, it means we are ready to let go of things that are causing us pain and prepare for a deep metamorphosis.

We should ask ourselves these questions: What needs to be transformed in our lives? What do we need to release to bloom? What needs to die so we can live more fully?

By connecting to our inner voice, we will hear the message of what needs to be released. Whether it is a toxic person, a stagnant job, or a habit we’ve outgrown, we are ready to let go.

With death, there is always some pain. We must acknowledge that there will be grief in letting go, even if we release something that no longer serves us.

When you connect with what needs to be transformed, honor this by doing a releasing ceremony or ritual. Write what you want to let go of on a piece of paper, then give the paper its own transformation.

This could include ripping it up and letting it burn, burying it in the earth, or simply saying the words on the page out loud. Whatever you choose, this ceremony will help honor the process.

Mantra for the week: I release the parts of myself that I have outgrown and open myself to the abundant love around me.
