The cards pictured are from the Crowley Thoth Tarot Deck.
Four of Disks and Three of Swords
As we move through Cancer Season, we continue to set intentions as we reach the year’s midpoint. We have two cards to guide and support us through the days ahead.
Our first card, the Four of Disks, is about creating and sustaining a solid and positive foundation. It asks us to take stock of what gives us stability and builds us up. And to create boundaries with anything that brings us down.
Our strength with this card comes from our deep connection to ourselves, our community, and the planet. It wants us to know we are bigger than just ourselves, and the universe supports us deeply.
The card portrays a fortress that gives both security and power. The structure may not be tall, but it is strong. The symbols on each of the four pillars are the elements: earth, air, fire, and water.
The Four of Disks makes me think of our homes and creating a sanctuary within the places we live. This is very much in line with Cancer as they have a strong attachment to home, family, and ancestry.
The Four of Disks calls us to create a safe and calming space in our homes. It calls us to time to organize, clean, and beautify. Our home is the place that will nourish and energize us before we go out into the world. It deserves our love and attention.
Through the Four of Disks, we can see how far we have come and all the people and places that love and support us. We connect with our spiritual practice and journey to our higher self. We notice everything we do daily to prioritize our mental and physical health. We feel strong.
The second card we are diving into this week is the Three of Swords. When this card appears it often points to a broken heart, grief, or betrayal. Our emotions are heavy and we are working through our disappointment.
These feelings could be related to a recent occurrence or something we have been holding on to for a while. The energy could be on a personal level or about how we feel about the world. Either way, we are raw, and our tender hearts feel vulnerable.
If we push away our dark feelings, we also risk numbing ourselves to joy. When we try to sail past complicated emotions, we miss out on the richness of our experience and the wisdom we can gain.
The heaviness can be addressed by sitting with our feelings and honoring them. They will not go away immediately, but the emotions will dissipate through our acceptance.
We can talk to a friend, express our pain, and name our emotions. When we face how we feel, it can lessen our fear and confusion; we can then work with the energy and think about what is really hurting us.
By working on our personal feelings, we might also be able to be there for someone else who is hurting. Supporting a loved one can mend some of our own heartbreak.
Experiencing hurt and heartbreak is a universal human emotion. We are never alone in our emotions, as everyone can relate to feelings of pain. We can seek solace with others who may share similar feelings.
Mantra for the week: I am rooted in strength and safe to share the depths of my emotions.
