A pendulum is simply a weight on a string. It is used to connect with truth, the unconscious, or subconscious mind. Consulting a pendulum is one of several forms of “dousing,” which is a technique to search for anything invisible, such as underground water, minerals like gold, and other hidden resources without the use of scientific tools. Dowsing has been relied upon for centuries.
“[Using a pendulum] is a way of communicating with our own subconscious mind, which is connected to the field of consciousness.”
– Sandy R. Ross

How to “Pendle” to Determine Beliefs
1. Take a moment to find a comfortable seat and quiet your mind.
2. Take a few deep cleansing breaths to open up and clear your mind, body, and spirit.
3. Holding the pendulum in your dominant hand with the chain or top link between your thumb and index finger, ask “show me yes” and “show me no.” When you do this, the pendulum will either swing vertically, horizontally, or in circular motions.
4. Keep your mind clear, calm, and open. Do not think of anything but this reading. If you are distracted, do this at another time.
5. Ask some obvious questions as practice. Is my name ______? Do I live in the city ______?
6. State a negative belief. If you get a “yes,” make a note. And change it. Do not ask the pendulum life-changing questions when you are new at this. (Do not test only positive beliefs, as you may have both negative and positive beliefs about any subject.)
7. Practice often. The more you practice, the more confident you will become.
