Three of Swords and Kight of Swords
The cards pictured are from Uusi’s ‘Pagan Otherworlds’ deck.
When the Three of Swords appears, it often points to a broken heart, grief, or betrayal. Our emotions are heavy as we carry feelings of disappointment.
These feelings could be related to a recent occurrence or something we have been holding on to. The energy could be personal or about how we feel about the world. Either way, our tender hearts feel vulnerable.
If we push away our feelings, we also risk numbing ourselves to joy. When we try to sail past complicated emotions, we miss out on the richness of our experience and the wisdom we can gain.
The heaviness can be addressed by sitting with our feelings and honoring them. They won’t go away immediately, but the emotions will dissipate through our acceptance. And will help us walk into 2025 with more freedom.
We can talk to a friend, express our pain, and name our emotions. When we face how we feel, it can lessen our fear and confusion; we can then work with the energy and think about what is really hurting us.
By working on our personal feelings, we might also be able to be there for someone else who is hurting. Supporting a loved one can mend some of our heartbreak.
Experiencing hurt and heartbreak is a universal human emotion. We are never alone in our emotions, as everyone can relate to feelings of pain. We can seek solace with others who may share similar feelings.
Our next card is the Knight of Swords, and it is all about a sharp and clear mind. It allows us to regain focus if we have felt distracted and clouded. The bright energy it carries will help us make some much-needed next steps.
This is also the gift of starting a new year. It lets us reflect on what we learned in the previous season, complete unfinished business, and take a moment to reset for the path ahead.
The elements of fire and air in this card give us a quick and powerful boost to get things done. It will even help us find solutions to problems that have felt too tricky or complicated.
The Knight of Swords encourages us to tackle tasks we have been postponing. These unfinished errands or projects can increase stress levels and contribute to negative thoughts.
What steps can you take this week to alleviate your stress? How can you sharpen your focus and dive into your work? And, is there one task you can eliminate from your to-do list?
Keeping a clean and organized space during difficult times can boost our spirits. Achieving our goals and gaining clarity can result in a more positive outlook.
Mantra for the week: It’s safe to express my emotions. I feel light, focused, and motivated.
