Nikki’s Weekly Tarot Reading: May 11-17, 2026

The Hierophant and Eight of Cups

We have a New Moon in Taurus this week, and our cards weave together a message of wisdom and support. We have been in a period of deep transformation, and this week we continue down the path with the guidance of The Heirophant and Eight of Cups.

The cards call us to notice routines that are draining, obligations we have outgrown, or advice from others that doesn’t suit us. We are seeking the habits that authentically ground and support us and stepping away from the parts of our life we may have held on to just to keep the peace.

Our first card this week is The Hierophant, a card of wisdom and seeking. We are eager to learn, grow, and examine. We are ready to move to the next level and shed the old ways that no longer serve.

Many brilliant people have come before us who have discovered peaceful ways of living. We do not have to reinvent the wheel or go through it alone. They have found answers to life’s many questions, and we can gain from their experiences.

Be open to teachers in all forms. It could be in a book, a song, or a figure of wisdom. You may already know this person, but their spirit will have a profound impact on you this week. The Hierophant calls us to receive guidance from our mentors, ancestors, and angels.

Keep your eyes open for specific signs that will guide you in the right direction. Be ready to take in all that is around you. The call of The Hierophant is being amplified, and the universe is speaking to you.

Our next card is the Eight of Cups. It often points to a feeling of stagnation, where the energy and joy we need are missing. It tells us we don’t need to remain in places that feel hollow just to keep the peace.

On the card, the figure has turned away from the cups. She is questioning her connection to the life she has created and longs to feel vibrant and inspired. She wants to choose a path that is more authentic and in line with her true soul.

The Eight of Cups challenges us to shift our way of thinking. It wants us to stop focusing on the finish line and where we want to be in the future. Instead, it asks us to be present for our journey and where we are now. It wants us to be curious about ourselves and enjoy the small, lovely experiences along the way.

Under the Eight of Cups, we slow down to listen to ourselves and the Universe. We become quiet and focus on our real emotions below the surface.

Let’s write down what we need or feel is missing in our lives, along with the steps we can take to achieve this. But at the same time, we should consider shifting our mindset to be more present, finding the good in each day, and even adding a little whimsy? How can we invite more joy into our lives right now, even if our current situation isn’t what we ultimately desire?

The Eight of Cups calls us to start a journey on a new path. One that is full of acceptance of our imperfections and feels deep and genuine. This path is messier, and the road is winding, but when we take it, we feel fully alive.

Mantra for the week: I am allowed to outgrow what once felt right.
