Intuitive Astrology: Jupiter Retrograde October 2024- February 2025

Jupiter begins its annual retrograde on October 9, 2024, and will remain in retrograde motion until February 4, 2025. This is the first planetary retrograde of the year that will flow into 2025, making it an important marker of what’s to come.

The Planet of Expansion enters the Underworld

Jupiter is the planet of expansion, and when it enters retrograde, it wants us to go back over the past and reflect on what we may have missed the first time around. Issues that were expanded or highlighted to us may come around again to gain our attention so we can move to the next part of our story.

Ancient astrologers believed that when a planet was in retrograde, it was able to delve into the underworld of our subconscious and unearth all the things that we didn’t want to look at or couldn’t see the first time. For this reason, retrogrades can sometimes be confronting or can dramatically change our outlook.

Jupiter is also the planet of philosophy and rules over our higher mind, so under a retrograde, it is not uncommon to change our way of thinking or find our mind-bending to new ideas and realizations. We may have always believed one thing, but then slowly see that there are other possibilities or ideas to be considered.

Jupiter Retrograde in Gemini

Jupiter will retrograde back from 21 degrees of Gemini to 11 degrees of Gemini. These degrees generally influence our communication and the way we choose to express ourselves. They are also connected to our social style and interactions with others.

Under this retrograde, we may find ourselves reflecting on our communication style or perhaps evolving the way in which we choose to communicate with others.

On deeper levels, these degrees of Gemini are also connected to our spiritual side and how we balance our journey of being a soul versus our journey of being a human.

We are a soul with a body, and sometimes, it’s hard to find the bridge between the two. We can get easily lost and caught up in the material world, but just the same we can also forget the importance of being here for a physical and human experience too.

Paving a bridge between our human selves and our soul selves may be something that comes up for us under this Jupiter Retrograde.
